A slightly revised course; having listened to your feedback and pedalled a lot more miles at Pippingford we have decided to remove a couple of the really tough climbs and shortened a smidge, down to 15km, hence the adjustment of the total distances. Hopefully these small changes make the course even more fun, without quite so much pain!<\/p>\n

The XTERRA MTB Marathon appeals to all mountain bikers, regardless of experience or ability. Stunning location with varied terrain making one of the best mountain bike courses around, with something to challenge everyone.<\/p>\n

The event takes places on an exciting and innovative course, enabling close battles throughout the field. The route is a figure of eight that passes through the arena area twice per lap, and features a purpose-built bridge in the centre of the race village that riders will thunder over. This will be great fun for riders and supporters alike as well as offering more access to technical support.<\/p>\n

Expect a mix of thrilling singletrack, woodland trails, heathland, gravel and stunning meadow paths. All totalling up to be a grin inducing 15km lap! All you need to do is choose whether you want to race for 1, 2, 4 or 6 laps.<\/p>\n

If you want to make the XTERRA MTB Marathon even more fun there is only one way to do it, and that\u2019s with a partner. Find a riding buddy and sign up to the 90km Monster Marathon for Pairs, as long as you both complete 2 laps each you\u2019ll be awarded a finishing position \u2013 if you manage to complete all 6 laps between you, the podium won\u2019t be far away!<\/p>\n

Pippingford Park is a stunning 900+ acre private estate in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. Due to an historical law off-road cycling is banned in the public areas of the Ashdown Forest so we consider ourselves very lucky to be able to open this largely untouched area to Mountain Bikers at this event.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve been lucky enough to have ridden at Pippingford Park before you\u2019ll want to know if the long descent from the top of the venue to the bottom of the valley is in the course\u2026 yep, of course it is. It\u2019s a thrill a minute descent with fast sweeping berms small jumps and drops (that are all roll-able) and fun twisting sections.<\/p>\n

While this venue is renowned in mountain biking circles for its fun woodland single track just mentioning that doesn\u2019t do the course justice. From trails that ebb and flow across stunning open heathland that are only accessible on long lap events to a great fun gully trail that follows the boundary of the venue, even the climbs are fun!<\/p>\n

When it has all got a bit much after a big effort and your eyes are spinning a bit just take a breather and enjoy the amazing views across the Ashdown Forest.<\/p>\n
